Year 9 Food Recipes

Below are the recipes your son/daughter will create during their Food Technology Rotation in Year 9.  Although the recipes are shown in the order they appear on the Scheme of Work, some alterations to the order in which they are taught may occur.

Stir Fry

Ingredients

100g Noodles

1 Chicken Breast (or 3 -4 thighs)

½ Red Chilli

1 Clove Garlic

½ Tsp Dry Ginger

½ Green or Red Pepper

Bean Sprouts

½ Onion

2 Mushrooms

1 x 10ml spoon oil

1 x 10ml spoon soy sauce

Chicken Curry

Ingredients

1 Chicken Breast

1 Onion

4 Mushrooms

Tin chopped Tomatoes

1 Tbsp Curry Paste

1 Small Carton natural yogurt

Oil

Mincemeat Jalousie

Ingredients

1 pack of puff pastry

1 jar of mincemeat

A little milk for brushing the edges and glazing top

A small amount of caster sugar to sprinkling on top

Icing sugar for dusting

Pizza

Ingredients

Base

1 Pkt Tesco Pizza Base Mix

125ml Hand Hot Water

Toppings

1 Tbsp Tomato Puree

1 Slice Cooked Ham Chopped

1 Tbsp Sweetcorn

50g Grated Cheese

Healthy Apple Cake

Ingredients

100g Self Raising Flour

100g Wholemeal Self Raising Flour

125g Caster Sugar

150g Butter or Margarine

3 Eggs

Tablespoon Milk

1 Cooking Apple (Remove Core -Peeled roughly chopped in small chunks)

25g Sultanas or Raisins

¼ Tsp Cinnamon
